We understand that your event is special to you so we go out of our way to make sure it is exactly what you want and need. From a great party sound system that includes twin CD players, computer, a mixing board, amp, speakers and wireless microphones, to a full-on concert-system with overhead lighting and multiple sound reinforcement, we can provide it all. Our first questions will include the kind of party or event that it is, where it is being held (indoors/outdoors/size of the venue?) and the number of persons expected. For example, we recently hosted and DJ'd at a gorgeous wedding at The Montage resort in Laguna Beach for more than 350 guests. The wedding was outside (as you can see in the photo below) with a separate sound system provided for a string quartet, and the reception was in three ballrooms that were linked together. The guest of honor was Ritchie Sambora of Bon Jovi who actually came on stage with us and sang three songs for the bride and groom. We just DJ'd and hosted a 40th birthday in Newport beach at an amazing house on the marina. In a situation like that you have to take extra care to respect the surroundings and decorations - the last thing you want is some bozo dragging a speaker across a custom wood floor! It took extra time but it was so worth it. We had sound and lights on three different levels and the party went on several hours past the finish time. So happy 40th, Joe! In May 2007, I was asked to host the red carpet premiere of "Spamalot" at the Wynn in Las Vegas. As well as press and TV from around the world, I was fortunate to interact with some of the legends of comedy including John Cleese, Robin Williams, Eric Idle, Eddie Izzard and Robin Williams - though my wife was most excited to meet Max and Tony from 'Dancing With The Stars'. This was an event where everything had to work perfectly - and to an almost military schedule!! There were no problems and the premiere was a huge success - and the show is brilliant! From the simplest wedding to the most elaborate, we can tailor the sound system and lighting package (if required) to suit your needs and budget. Next comes the type of music that you would like. Our library that we bring to every gig includes more than 12,000 titles but we want you to be thrilled with the music. So, in addition to everything from 40s Big Band, 50s Elvis, 60s Beach Music, 70s Rock and Disco, 80s New Wave and KROQ, 90s Dance and today’s hits from Justin to Fergie, from Gwen to Timbaland, we want to find out your special songs so we can have them on hand to make sure they are played at the right time. Whether it’s that first dance at your wedding that means so much, the Prom theme that ties it all together, that anniversary record that brings back those magic moments or the coming-of-age track for the Bar Mitzvah, we’ll have it and we’ll play it for you – along with a customized introduction to set it up. We also want to know the dress code for the party so that we can dress appropriately. You tell us, from tuxedoes to fancy dress, we have it and we’ll wear it. We even played several James Bond themed partys, so I had to come as 007! And even my assistants - Joey and Krista dressed the part. When you book with us, we promise to fit in with YOUR theme - no dirty blue jeans!!! The event usually starts with the equipment being set up ahead of time. Then Richard will arrive to host and spin the music for the party. This will include (as appropriate) announcements, toasts and contests.
